“Hidden” Bars in Hanoi

Bee’Znees
Located on Phung Hung Street, Hoan Kiem, Bee’Znees has a facade that doesn’t look like a pub. Visitors here will feel like they are being cheated upon entering the first floor.
The shelves are arranged like a bookcase, but when you drag one of the books onto the right shelf, the entire bookcase turns into a door that opens onto a small staircase leading to the second floor.
In a small, cozy space, you can sip good whiskeys and listen to jazz music. The shop regularly updates the menu, various variations of cocktails and serves live music every weekend, the price ranges from 250,000 to 500,000 VND per drink.
A Hard Days Night
Hidden in Nguyen Quang Bich Street, Hoan Kiem, A Hard Days Night has an intimate and discreet space. The interior is a rustic, heartfelt space through dim lights, warm wooden furniture and old Beatles music playing over and over.
The bar serves simple cocktails, mainly of Japanese origin such as sake, Japanese Slipper, apricot wine… The bartenders can also create drinks according to the mood and taste of the guests. Drink prices range from 100,000 to 150,000 VND.
The Alchemist
In front of A hard days night, The Alchemist opens a quiet and private world from the moment you enter. The bar is located on the second floor, under another pub. Artistic style with large contemporary paintings, old-fashioned jazz music, picky listeners, but it remains the number one address for connoisseurs.
The bartenders are very diligent in keeping up with the latest brewing trends as well as new wines, combined with local ingredients. Here, you can find century-old whiskeys, various cocktails based on rum, tequila… variations with herbs and fruits made by the bar.
Each category of wine is classified according to distillation time, flavor and alcohol content. Drink prices range from 200,000 to 250,000 VND. The restaurant also serves more dishes such as burgers, steaks, grilled ribs…
